Did you know that seaweed is a wildly nutritious superfood?
You don’t have to spend big $$ on expensive sushi to enjoy it, either.
I discovered this delicious nori wraps recipe from Diana Keuilian, the author of The Recipe Hacker and The Recipe Hacker Confidential.
Diana Keuilian is both a mother and the creator of RealHealthyRecipes.com. She’s an expert at creating recipes that are not only healthy, but are also a big hit with kids!
Diana’s Fun Nori Wraps are a quick and easy snack that kids love to eat and make — and they also happen to be highly nutritious!
They require only 5 simple, natural ingredients:
- 3 nori sheets
- 1 peeled and pitted avocado
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
- 1 sliced tomato
Avocados are an amazing source of healthy Omega-3 fats, riboflavin, magnesium, niacin, folate, and potassium, as well as essential vitamins including B6, C, and E.
Tomatoes provide you with vitamin C and a healthy dose of lycopene, an antioxidant linked to reduced risk of heart disease and cancer.
Nori, made from dried seaweed, is almost 50% protein, and rich in calcium and important trace minerals such as iodine. Nori is commonly used to make sushi, but can also be eaten on its own or used to create at-home wraps with your favorite ingredients.
Once you’ve mastered this recipe, you can experiment with other vegetables and protein to create your family’s own signature wraps!
