While granola bars are largely seen as a health food, the truth is that grocery store options are often packed with sugar, corn syrup, and preservatives.

These Organic Sisters Caramel, Nut & Seed Bars are an excellent alternative to grocery store granola bars — and they’re very easy to make!

BASE INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup macadamia nuts
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup cashews
2 Tbsp chia seeds
1/2 cup shredded coconut

DIRECTIONS
Pulse ingredients apart from chia seeds & shredded coconut in blender/food processor until chopped coarsely
Empty nut mixture into a bowl and stir in the chia seeds & coconut

SAUCE INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup coconut nectar
1/3 cup almond butter
1/3 cup melted coconut oil
1 heaped tbsp unhulled tahini
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS
Mix all ingredients into a saucepan
Whisk over low heat til sticky sauce forms
Pour sauce into nut & seed mix, stir til combined
Press into small, lined slice tray using hands
Smooth mixture using the back of a spoon
Freeze for 30 minutes to set
Cut into bars or squares & enjoy!

Tip: if sending a bar to school in your kid’s lunchbox, place it beside something cold!
